We’re a small Perth studio creating considered, harmonious homes, and we’re looking for people who will grow with us

Roles

Mid-Level Interior Designer (Part-Time)

About the role

Wind & Water Interiors is a Perth-based interior design studio creating calm, considered homes and spaces, with a gentle nod to feng shui principles. We work closely with clients on residential renovations, kitchens and bathrooms, styling and small commercial spaces.

We're looking for a mid-level Interior Designer to join us part-time, 16 hours per week, with the opportunity for more as the studio grows. You'll be the founder's right hand: in client meetings, building SketchUp models and 3D visuals, keeping projects on track, and making sure every enquiry and admin task is handled with care.

This role suits a designer with solid hands-on experience who enjoys both the creative and the organisational side of a small studio.

Key responsibilities

Client meetings and design

•      Attend initial consultations, site visits, measure-ups and design presentations alongside the Principal Designer

•      Take clear meeting notes and turn client briefs into actionable next steps

•      Contribute to concept development, moodboards, material and finish selections, and FF&E schedules

SketchUp and 3D visualisation

•      Build accurate SketchUp models from site measurements and plans

•      Produce 3D renders and visuals that communicate design intent to clients

•      Prepare floor plans, elevations and cabinetry drawings for client approval and trades

Project management

•      Coordinate projects from brief through to installation and handover

•      Liaise with suppliers, trades, builders and joiners, and track quotes, orders and lead times

•      Maintain project timelines, budgets and schedules, and flag risks early

•      Attend site meetings and help with quality checks and defect lists

Enquiries and client care

•      Respond promptly and warmly to new enquiries by email, phone and social media

•      Qualify leads, book discovery calls and consultations, and send proposals

•      Keep clients updated throughout their project

General administration

•      Manage the studio inbox and calendar, and keep project files organised

•      Prepare quotes, invoices and supplier orders, and track payments

•      Maintain supplier relationships, samples library and product records

•      Support the studio's marketing and digital products where needed

About you

Essential

•      Degree or diploma in Interior Design or Interior Architecture

•      3–5 years' experience in an interior design studio, with residential projects (kitchens and bathrooms a plus)

•      Strong SketchUp skills and experience producing 3D renders (e.g. V-Ray, Enscape, Twinmotion or similar)

•      Confident presenting to clients and leading parts of a meeting

•      Proven ability to manage several projects at once, with excellent organisation and follow-through

•      Clear, warm written and verbal communication

•      Working knowledge of materials, finishes, lighting and Australian building and plumbing basics

•      Current valid driver's licence and own vehicle for site visits

Nice to have

•      AutoCAD, Revit or similar drafting software

•   Social media experience - Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and LinkedIn

•      Canva and the Adobe suite for presentations and marketing

•      Experience with studio software Programa

•      Established relationships with Perth suppliers and trades

•      An interest in feng shui or wellbeing-led design

What we offer

•      Flexible part-time hours, working from home.

•      Variety: every project touches design, clients, suppliers and site

•      A close working relationship with the founder and real input into how the studio grows

•      Supplier discounts and ongoing professional development
