The Designer Behind the Brand: Wind and Water Interiors

Hello, I’m Zoe — holistic interior designer and founder of Wind & Water Interiors.

Growing up, I moved often, living across different countries, cultures, and environments shaped by my parents, Kathy and Mark. My childhood was defined by movement, adaptation, and exposure to different ways of living.

From an early age, I was immersed in spaces that showed me how people live, rest, gather, and move through their environments. I noticed how homes functioned differently depending on culture and climate — and how certain spaces encouraged connection, while others supported solitude and reflection.

I saw different relationships with colour.

Different uses of light.

Different understandings of energy and flow.

Some spaces felt grounding and calm. Others felt stimulating and expressive. Some prioritised simplicity, while others embraced layers and texture. Without realising it at the time, these experiences shaped how I understood design — not as decoration, but as something deeply connected to how people feel inside a space.

From Observation to Practice: How My Background Became My Expertise

By the time I settled independently in Perth, Australia, this understanding was already ingrained in me. I knew instinctively that homes aren’t just functional containers. Commercial spaces aren’t just practical boxes. And good design is never just visual aesthetics applied to a room.

Design is emotional.

Design is energetic.

Design is deeply personal.

This belief shaped how I approached kitchens and bathrooms — the two spaces where people are most vulnerable and most intentional. A kitchen is a gathering space where light influences mood, colour shapes interaction, and layout supports connection.

Bathrooms, to me, are sanctuaries — spaces where people begin and end their day, care for themselves, and deserve to feel grounded and restored.

From Doing Design to Leading with Intention

Wind & Water Interiors was born from a desire to design with greater care and consciousness — to move beyond surface-level decisions and into spaces that genuinely support the people who use them.

Leading with intention means understanding that every design choice carries weight. How a space flows, how it feels over time, and how it supports daily life matters just as much as how it looks.

This philosophy continues to guide how I approach every project.

Cabinetry and Holistic Design Integration

What sets Wind & Water Interiors apart is my deep expertise in cabinetry and how it integrates with holistic design principles. Cabinetry isn’t just storage — it’s the backbone of how kitchens and bathrooms function and one of the largest visual elements in these spaces.

I don’t simply select cabinetry. I design it — considering daily use, longevity, spatial flow, and how it integrates with colour and material choices so the space feels intentional rather than generic.

This allows me to design from the inside out — beginning with how a client lives or works, then shaping every element to support that life.

What I Design Now

Today, Wind & Water Interiors is built on calm authority — steady expertise clients trust. Every project considers the whole picture: the people who will use the space, how they move through it, how it supports their lifestyle or business, and how it feels over time.

The focus is always on creating spaces that feel considered, functional, and aligned — rather than following trends or imposing a single aesthetic.

The Three Pillars of My Design Philosophy

Every project I take on is guided by three core principles:

Colour Schemes That Matter

Colour is never chosen for trend alone. Each palette is selected for how it supports function, emotion, and experience within a space.

Sustainability Without Compromise

Materials and finishes are chosen for durability, health, and responsible sourcing — ensuring spaces remain relevant and resilient over time.

Feng Shui as Functional Design

Applied practically through flow, light movement, spatial hierarchy, and balance, feng shui becomes a framework for creating spaces that feel grounded, intuitive, and supportive.

Let’s Build Spaces That Tell Your Story

I believe spaces should tell a story — your story.

Wind & Water Interiors exists for people who understand that their environment shapes their experience, and that good design goes beyond how a space looks.

If your space matters to you, let’s talk.
